I was extremely happy with most of the folks I spoke with during my time at Key West. It took me 3 days of visiting the dealership to make sure I was making the right decision on the vehicle for my needs and my budget. All staff but one understood that this purchase wasn't an easy one to make within my budget. Peter Olsen, Michael Nokes and Robert Klaus really understood why I needed to take my time and research all my options. I appreciated their kindness and patience and didn't feel at all pressured into the sale.

I saw an ad for a F350 at the lot. The truck was not on the lot due to construction. It took a day to get the truck so I could see it. I made a deal and drove it away that afternoon. Happy with the vehicle. Sales person was new to Key West and lacked knowledge of all the options on the truck.

There were a few hiccups that came along with our purchase of a pre-owned vehicle but I was impressed with how much effort was taken to remedy the situation and make sure we were feeling great about our purchase. The dealership really went above and beyond to get us in a vehicle that was safe and good quality! Jeff was very attentive both on-site and through follow-up calls, addressing concerns, and doing everything in his power to remedy the situation. I would highly recommend working with Jeff who was easy going, enthusiastic, and kept the process very simple. In the end, we are very happy with our new (to us!) vehicle and I'm glad we went through this journey with Key West Ford and Jeff.

2014 Ford Fiesta Boasts 1.0L Ecoboost, ST Model, and More!

(Posted on Feb 27, 2013 at 11:32AM by Flynn)

2014 Ford Fiesta Boasts 1.0L Ecoboost, ST Model, and More!

Presented at the most recent Los Angeles Auto Show, the 2014 Ford Fiesta is an improvement over the 2012 edition. This little subcompact has been available in North America for two years, but slow sales motivated Ford to offer a version that packaged a more attractive design and energy efficient engines.

Visually, what we initially see from the new front end of the Fiesta is a view that offers more modern lines and an "Aston Martin" style grill, typical of current offerings from American manufacturers. Truthfully, it suits the car well, giving the small subcompact a sporty and aggressive look. In it's category, it's difficult to find another car as attractive as this 2014 model. The interior has also benefited from a refresh by Ford. The dash and centre console have been left modernized, even futuristic feeling, while remaining humble and offering the necessary essentials without the frills.

Initially, Ford will be offering the 2014 with the same engine as on the previous model. The most amazing version, the Fiesta ST, will be fitted with a four-cylinder 1.6 litre Eco Boost engine, generating no less than 197 horses and 215 pounds of torque. The 2014 ST is also equipped with a sportier suspension.

Later in the year, patient drivers will enjoy the EcoBoost 1.0-litre engine version. This is an amazing small three-cylinder equipped with a turbocharger that can rotate up to 248,000 rpm! It puts out a respectable 123 HP, given the characteristics of this motor. The icing on the cake is that the fuel consumption is estimated at about 5.8 litres per 100 kilometres. Under the right conditions, it could even fall below 5 litres. The only transmission offered with the 1.0-litre EcoBoost model will be a five-speed manual. Ford hasn't ruled out an automatic, but nothing is planned in the short term.

With this release, Ford is expected to significantly increase its market share and displace it's competition, reinforcing it's position in the increasingly competitive subcompact market. See you in the spring at Key West Ford to take possession of your next Fiesta 2014!

An Unexpected Collection: Visiting Langley

Tags:
(Posted on Feb 15, 2013 at 05:53PM by Lee Byard)

A first impression is hard to forget... but it’s not always accurate.

Tucked within Langley, B.C. is a shed. A quick glance would offer nothing of importance, just a slanted roof and the faded glint of aluminum siding. It boasts a plain history and a plainer setting. There’s nothing worthwhile to find.

This is what many car enthusiasts would assume.

They would be wrong.

Inside this shed is a staggering collection of vehicles and memorabilia. Gleaming black and white floors greet guests as they enter, with lights drenching the space, showcasing the chrome grills and chassis curves. Long rows of cars--from classic Thunderbirds to modern Mustangs--fill the corners: their conditions pristine, their values immeasurable.

Step back into the age of muscle cars and rock-and-roll. Within this Langley shed guests will discover more than vintage vehicles. Instead they’ll find a slice of Americana: neon signs flooding the walls, the scratch of jukebox records and a city-worthy setting (complete with a corner store, garage and burger joint). The 50s-inspired style is as charming as it is undeniable.

Take time to make another first impression. Visit Langley today... and then come to Key West Ford to find the right vehicle to begin your own collection.

An Efficient Escape

It was once an age of consumption--with fuel devoured by engines and dollars lost among the diesel haze. Cars were defined by raw power, their cylinders demanding more than tiny tanks could provide. No thought was spared for economy. Drivers only wanted speed and they got it... as long as they paid for it.

A new philosophy now reigns: drivers still want speed but they also want efficiency.

The new Ford Escape allows them to achieve both.

The Ford Escape is a compact crossover. Since its debut in 2000, it has become a permanent fixture within the automotive market, climbing eventually to the top of the hybrid division. Sales continue to expand, proving that drivers favor the economical size and signature Ford reliability.

Now, however, the Escape is providing more than a steady engine. It’s instead offering up to 15 percent greater fuel efficiency.

The new design, as released in 2013, is a blend of American innovation and German engineering. Ford now partners with the Schaeffler Company, a European supplier, to redefine the Escape’s capabilities. Subtle changes--such as a torque converter, a stop-start gearbox system and an automatically decoupling rear axle--help to transform this vehicle from solid to spectacular. Painstaking adjustments take advantage of the turbo-charged engine and all-wheel drive, wringing out up to 15 percent in overall fuel savings.

Drivers still experience the high-performance of a Ford car. They’re simply spared the experience of high gas prices.

Dodge Challenges The Past: The New RT

Bigger isn’t always better... but sometimes it’s everything a driver needs.

The latest offering from Dodge proves this.

At the 2013 Chicago Auto Show Dodge is scheduled to debut its newest design: a reinvented Challenger RT. This is a tribute to the American muscle car, with a sleek chassis and vintage style, all retro-inspired colors and details.

It boasts mechanics, however, that are anything but old-school.

The new Challenger RT--part of the Redline Series, recognized for distinctive red stripes along the body--will be an eight cylinder option (upgrading from the previous six cylinders). Its hemi-powered engine will deliver up to 375-HP, and the six speed manual transmission will ensure an effortless ride. Wide 20-inch wheels complete the effect, steadying the Challenger’s strength on any road.

The original RT was a standard coup. The 2013 version, however, is now being transformed: into something bigger, better and entirely new.

Reports and Rumors: The Ford Focus RS

Tags:
(Posted on Feb 14, 2013 at 11:37AM by Lee Byard)

Rumors are a staple of the automotive industry. Secret specs are released; new designs are hinted at; and potential mergers are always talked about, even as the companies involved deny everything.

It’s rare now for the public to give credence to innuendo and unsubstantiated reports.

Ford, however, is giving everyone a reason to hope.

In 2015 a new Ford Focus RS is to be released. This claim, as made by Britain’s Autocar and North America’s Car and Driver, has been met with much enthusiasm. The Focus RS is among the top-selling cars worldwide, with drivers taking advantage of its fuel-efficient size and turbo-charged 2.5-liter engine. It’s an economical powerhouse.

It’s also, if the rumors are to be believed, finally coming to North America.

As of 2013 the Ford Focus RS has never officially been released in North America. It has instead been regulated to international markets, where the response has been unparalleled. This strategy is often cited as a way for Ford to decrease potential competition within its own ranks (the Mustang is the standard option for the United States and Canada).

The Focus RS is a hatchback, however, that would appeal to a different demographic. A competition between the two would be unlikely. Instead Ford would be able to reap the advantages of a diverse market by offering both the Focus and the Mustang.

A rumor is sometimes true.

Choose Key West Ford in 2015 if the Focus does arrive.

Rallying For Racing: The Ford Fiesta ST

Tires spin. Engines roar. Dirt and dust go scattering.

The first lap of a rallycross tournament has drivers hurrying forward, shifting gears and gritting teeth as they battle for the finish line. Every second is flooded with cylinder whines and hydraulic power. Every thought is channeled into faster, faster, more. The race is on.

And Ford intends to win it.

In 2013 the latest Global Rallycross Championship will begin. This event sets the standard for racing in North America. Since its inception in 2009, it has become known not only for its quick circuits but also for its innovative vehicle designs.

Ford is continuing that tradition with its latest rally-car: the Fiesta ST Racer.

The Fiesta ST Racer embraces the excitement of rally-racing. Its twin-cam engine--supported with a Magnaflow exhaust and a turbo-charger--delivers high-performance results, achieving up to 60 MPH within two seconds. The effortless suspension and all-wheel drive deftly handles every track curve, while hydraulic braking controls the 600 horsepower.

Every angle of the Fiesta ST Racer is meant for speed. Its Kevlar body is sleek and the rear-spoiler counters even the harshest circuit conditions, creating a flawless ride.

The Global Rallycross Championship is the undisputed king of North American racing. The Fiesta ST will soon be the undisputed king of the track.

The Ford Fiesta ST: North America Bound

A small car offers no power: that’s the assumption of many drivers. No worthwhile engine can be held in a tiny frame. No high-performance options can be earned. A hatchback vehicle lacks the potential of its bigger, better brothers.

The Fiesta ST from Ford, however, proves why assumptions are rarely right.

Since 2005, the Fiesta has been thrilling European drivers, offering them the style they want and the advancements they expect. It’s a car composed of innovations--a four cylinder engined fused with EcoBoost technology, precise suspension, electronic stability control and more. With it individuals receive a small powerhouse, capable of achieving high speeds and higher fuel economy.

Now it’s coming to North America.

The Fiesta ST made its debut at the 2012 Los Angeles Auto Show. This event, held every year in November, always promises bold ideas. Ford kept that promise with the ST. This striking vehicle ushers in a new era of transportation, where sports-worthy performance and user-friendly mechanics combine. The European styling catches every eye. The signature Ford strength, however, lets it truly shine. This is a high-output option for every driver.

Choose a Fiesta ST from Key West Ford. Experience truth instead of assumptions.

The Fuel Efficient Fusion

It’s the reluctant press of a button, the insert of a nozzle. You’re waiting at the pump, thin-lipped with frustration as numbers begin to flash. Cents turn into dollars and dollars turn into regrets. Your car seems to devour fuel... and your bank account.

The economy is rarely stable and drivers are forever searching for ways to save money. Ford now offers such a way with its fuel efficient Fusion and Fusion Hybrid.

The Ford Fusion, recognized already for its sophisticated lines and responsive mechanics, is a favorite among drivers, toppling sales records every year. The 2012 Fusion, however, boasts more than high-style. Instead it offers fuel economy.

This mid-size option achieves a staggering 47 miles-per-gallon for both the highway and city limits, making it the most effective option on the market. This number is certified by the Environmental Protection Agency, guaranteeing that drivers will save while traveling.

It’s the Fusion’s signature technology that allows this to happen. An EcoBoost engine--a Ford staple since 2009--delivers up to 20 percent greater output, utilizing direct gasoline injections to improve overall quality. This combines with innovative mechanics, like SmartGauge and EcoGuide, to optimize every drop of fuel. This allows drivers to receive the most from every mile.

And that saves money.

Fuel economy and engine capabilities, technology and style: the public demands many things from the automotive industry. Every car must be an example of speed, strength and budget awareness.

It must also, however, embrace safety... and Ford does that with its 2013 Fusion and Fusion Hybrid vehicles.

The Ford Fusion has been a high-performer within the sedan market since it arrived in 2006. It has managed always to atrract a wide demographic because of its comfort and innovative design. In 2013, however, it’s catching the attention of drivers for a new reason: safety.

The Ford Fusion, along with its Hybrid alternative, has been named among the world's most reliable cars by the National Highway Transportation Safety Administration (NHTSA). Extensive testing--which included front and side impact crashes, rollover resistance and more--was given to each of these vehicles... and the result was a 5-Star rating.

Drivers deserve safe vehicles. Ford offers them.

Visit Key West Ford today to find all Fusion options.

The automotive industry is shaped by good ideas... but Ford now delivers a great one.

The North American International Auto Show (held every January in Detroit) is a center of vehicular innovation. Manufacturers, designers and developers flock each year to present their most impressive products, hoping to tempt the goodwill of buyers and critics alike. Ford has always managed to earn some of the spotlight. This year, however, it also managed to win the top prize: Most Important Vehicle.

Ford recently unveiled its latest concept: the Atlas. This is the truck of the future, a Pick-Up powerhouse that offers strength and economy. It’s a blend of Ford’s signature technologies--like EcoBoost and Active Shuttering--and potential advancements, making it the next step in the Pick-Up division.

This is a division that Ford has dominated throughout the years, with its F-Series being a leading market force. The Atlas, however, is now heralded as the successor of the F-150... which makes the future all the more promising.

Time may be needed before the Atlas arrives at Key West Ford, but it’s certain that the Most Important Vehicle of the North American International Auto Show is worth waiting for.
