My New Favourite Dealership!
My boyfriend and I were on the hunt for a new SUV, and we ended up being helped by Rob Vanoverschot. I was nervous about going to a dealership as I'd never purchased off of a lot before - and Rob made the process a breeze! He answered all of our questions and never made us feel pressured at all! We test drove about 6 different makes and models and fell in love with a 2019 Ford Escape. I would highly recommend Rob and Key West Ford, even the financing department and insurance department made this process enjoyable!
Not to mention they had the best prices around - and we came all the way out from Abbotsford!

Happy with the Flex
Patient and Kind
I was extremely happy with most of the folks I spoke with during my time at Key West. It took me 3 days of visiting the dealership to make sure I was making the right decision on the vehicle for my needs and my budget. All staff but one understood that this purchase wasn't an easy one to make within my budget. Peter Olsen, Michael Nokes and Robert Klaus really understood why I needed to take my time and research all my options. I appreciated their kindness and patience and didn't feel at all pressured into the sale.
Latest Ford News For Vancouver And New Westminster B.C. Drivers
Headlights and brake lights rarely excite drivers. They’d rather devote themselves to engine performance and fuel efficiency, fine-tuning their Fusions, Fiestas and Energis.
Key West Ford understands this. We simply also suggest paying close attention to vehicle lighting this winter.
As the climate shifts - bringing snow, sleet and slush to New Westminster - drivers find themselves squinting at the roads, trying to distinguish black ice from blacktop. It’s a challenge to drive even in the best conditions, and these are far from the best conditions.
Be certain that all lights are properly maintained, therefore, to provide the necessary support.
Replace any faulty lights. Clean all headlights, taillights and brake lights weekly (be sure to use a soft, damp rag to avoid damaging the lenses). If objects appear clouded and cannot be cleaned, visit a service department to have them professionally inspected. Refinishing is often possible and can be done quickly.
Test the responsiveness of each light to make sure there is no flickering, fading or weak voltage. This is essential when overcast or stormy conditions loom.
Vehicle maintenance extends to more than engines. Key West Ford wants all drivers to shine bright on the roads.
Since arriving onto the automotive market in 1996 the Expedition has been a favorite of drivers. Its adaptable design and powerful mechanics have made it perfect for work or play, and it has consistently ranked among Ford’s most popular options.
That popularity is soon to soar.
According to Edmunds, the 2015 Expedition will transform sport utility vehicles. It will feature a 3.5 liter V6 engine, stabilized with EcoBoost technology and 420-pounds of torque. This will not only generate high horsepower ratios (365), but it will also ensure superior fuel efficiency. The vehicle is expected to deliver over 22 MPGs on the highway, making it a strong choice for budget-conscious drivers.
The 2015 Expedition will also feature a striking new design. 22-inch wheels, chrome exhaust pipes, LED supports and more will impress even the most particular drivers. The reinvented hatch will also please, offering an excess of space and functionality.
Ford’s Expedition has become a staple of the North American market. This won't change in 2015.
A car that runs perfectly is a car that has clean filters.
All Ford vehicles - from the Expedition to the Mustang, the Focus to the F-150, feature intricate filtration systems, overseeing air intake, fuel economy and crankcase ventilation. These operations improve a vehicle’s overall performance, directly impacting engine power, heating and more.
Key West Ford recommends that drivers take special care of their filters this winter, therefore.
Be certain to replace all filters after every 15,000 miles for primary vehicles (ones used for everyday driving in either urban or rural environments). Check their conditions monthly, however, during the winter to combat any build-ups of slush, sleet or other pollutants.
If filters show minor damage feel free to clean them. Use solvents and warm water to gently scrub away debris. Be sure to dry these items thoroughly but do not wring them out. This can cause cracks or tears.
Drivers should also consider contacting Key West Ford’s service department for full inspections. Our staff will clean or replace all filters quickly and efficiently.
Keep every car protected this winter. Monitor filter conditions.
Ford drivers - from the Mustang enthusiasts to the Fusion lovers - take pride in their cars. They carefully maintain engines and filters. They monitor fuel levels and antifreeze ratios.
What they rarely do, however, is consider their windshield wipers.
This is a mistake - especially in the winter.
Key West Ford recommends that all drivers swap their wipers this season. Traditional blades will not suffice during harsh conditions. Their lightweight designs and thin sleeves can crack or break, rendering them useless. Choose products that have instead been formulated for the winter.
These wipers - which can be ordered through Key West Ford’s parts center - feature sturdy rubber moldings and heavier frames. They effortlessly move through snow or sleet, and they can easily adapt to plunging temperatures. This allows them to remain efficient during the entire winter.
And that’s something every driver needs.
Choose winter wipers to ensure proper vehicle maintenance. Contact Key West Ford to learn more.
Ice pummels the road; snow floods the sidewalks; and temperatures quickly fall, leaving wet air in their wake. Winter has come and drivers across New Westminster share a collective groan.
Their batteries, however, remain silent.
Cold weather destroyscar batteries, seeping into systems and interfering with connectivity. Power outputs drop significantly, and charge levels fail to rise. This creates unresponsive engines.
Key West Ford reminds drivers to have their batteries regularly - and properly - serviced this season. Replace ones that are over three years old, as these are more than twice as likely to malfunction. Have power outputs tested. Check clamps for signs of corrosion, and be certain that there’s no parasitic draw.
Parasitic draw occurs when electrical systems remain active after a vehicle's ignition has been turned off. Newer models often maintain their charges, keeping hood lights, trunk lights, heated seats and other functions on. This can significantly impact batteries and cause performance issues. Drivers who suspect this problem should contact Key West Ford for a thorough inspection.
Batteries often fail during the winter. Use these suggestions to protect them against the cold.
Key West Ford has often stressed the importance of winter tires. We’ve explained how they provide greater traction and stability. We’ve noted how their special compounds adapt to the harshest conditions. We’ve even demonstrated how they prove no more expensive than their all-season counterparts.
Some drivers, however, remain unconvinced. Winter tires, they believe, are not worth the time or the effort.
They may be worth lowered auto insurance premiums, though.
Key West Ford encourages all of our customers to contact their insurance brokers. Some firms offer incentive programs during the winter, reducing premiums to reward customers for using the right tires. These programs can eliminate hundreds of dollars from each policy per year, creating considerable savings.
Sadly, not every firm will offer these incentives. They will, however, raise the rates of drivers who are without winter tires and try to make collision claims. Expect to pay hefty totals by choosing all-season options.
Using winter tires can help drivers pad their bank accounts - which can then lead to summer road trips.
The Ford Mustang is the premier sports car. For fifty years it has epitomized style, speed and strength, making it a favorite of drivers across the globe.
Those same drivers can now take a bite out of history, thanks to a new innovation.
Ford has already proven its prowess in the automotive market. Now, by partnering with the famed Sugar Lab (an edible printing company in Los Angeles), it dominates a new field - chocolate.
To commemorate its signature car’s 50th anniversary, Ford is releasing candies shaped to resemble the 2015 Mustang. These items will blend rich chocolate and peppermint flavors, with their four-inch frames delicately highlighting the dual grille design. They will be carved by 3D printers, a way for the company to prove its commitment to both creativity and evolving programs.
“The Mustang and chocolate is a recipe for success,” noted Ford product licensing manager Mark Bentley. “It is so exciting to see how these technologies enable a new way of telling a brand story.”
There’s surely never been a sweeter treat!

The F-150 is a powerhouse - both on the road and on the sales charts. It has dominated every decade, proving to be a favorite of drivers in the United States, Canada and even Mexico.
Its success is no surprise. The F-150 boasts the industry’s best fuel economy and engine capabilities, making it as adaptable as it is strong.
A recent Farm Forum article now explains how this pick-up will continue to impress drivers in 2015.
The 2015 Ford F-150 will feature a new design. Its body - which will be shaped by aluminum alloy and wider framing - will be 700 pounds lighter, achieving faster accelerations, more responsive decelerations and improved efficiency.
Overall outputs will increase, with drivers able to choose from four engine types: including the 3.5 liter V6, the 3.5 liter Ecoboost V-6, the 2.7 liter Ecoboost V6 or the 5.0 liter V8.
Integrated technology - such as a remote release tailgate, an app-synced display screen or even a 360 degree monitor mirror - will prove useful for everyday towing as well.
The 2015 F-150 will provide drivers with the power they need and the performance they deserve.
The F-Series has earned its place among the automotive elite. Since its inception in 1948, these trucks have set the standard for strength and fuel economy throughout North America. With each generation they have introduced now crucial technology (such as the first integrated headlights in 1952, the first full line four-wheel drive conversion in 1959 or even the first powered door locks for pick-ups in 1986).
Now the F-Series is adding yet another landmark trait to its collection.
According to CNN, Ford will soon unveil an aluminum F-Series. Steel materials will be phased out, with manufacturers favoring lighter, flexible alloys. All pick-ups, including the popular F-150, will be completely redesigned.
This change, as spearheaded by former Ford Executive Phil Martens, is a response to recent industry regulations, which demand that automakers achieve a 54.5 MPG ratio for every pick-up by 2025. An aluminum truck will make this possible, as Martens explains, by proving: “One, lightweight. Two, (having an) advanced powertrain. And three, maintaining product attributes.”
These elements will ensure that the F-Series retains it signature strength but also offers greater fuel economy.
Drivers can expect to see the first aluminum trucks as early as 2015.
Ford owners have a their own brand of mathematics. They study the economy of fuel pumps and engine intakes. They learn horsepower ratios and estimate highway miles. Numbers are applied solely to a car's performance.
Drivers must have appropriate coverage this season. Statistics prove again and again that this is a dangerous time of year, especially for those on the streets. According to the Canadian Road Transportation Department:
Winter conditions are cited as a major contributing factor in almost 40% of annual collisions.
Over 500 accidents list snow drift as their source each year.
Packed snow results in over 7,5000 accidents each year.
Loose snow results in approximately 3,500 accidents each year.
Heavy snow leads to 1,500 accidents each year.
Light snow leads to 900 accidents each year.
These facts can’t be denied. They can, however, be countered with proper auto insurance. Drivers must have seasonal coverage, anticipating accidents with strong deductibles and comprehensive plans. This will make any potential repairs less daunting and less costly.
Key West urges its customers to update their policies and be safe.
