Ford Releases Mustang Inspired Candy To Celebrate Car’s 50th Anniversary

2015 ford mustangThe Ford Mustang is the premier sports car. For fifty years it has epitomized style, speed and strength, making it a favorite of drivers across the globe.

Those same drivers can now take a bite out of history, thanks to a new innovation.

Ford has already proven its prowess in the automotive market. Now, by partnering with the famed Sugar Lab (an edible printing company in Los Angeles), it dominates a new field - chocolate.

To commemorate its signature car’s 50th anniversary, Ford is releasing candies shaped to resemble the 2015 Mustang. These items will blend rich chocolate and peppermint flavors, with their four-inch frames delicately highlighting the dual grille design. They will be carved by 3D printers, a way for the company to prove its commitment to both creativity and evolving programs.

“The Mustang and chocolate is a recipe for success,” noted Ford product licensing manager Mark Bentley. “It is so exciting to see how these technologies enable a new way of telling a brand story.”

There’s surely never been a sweeter treat!

2015 ford f-150The F-150 is a powerhouse - both on the road and on the sales charts. It has dominated every decade, proving to be a favorite of drivers in the United States, Canada and even Mexico.

Its success is no surprise. The F-150 boasts the industry’s best fuel economy and engine capabilities, making it as adaptable as it is strong.

A recent Farm Forum article now explains how this pick-up will continue to impress drivers in 2015.

The 2015 Ford F-150 will feature a new design. Its body - which will be shaped by aluminum alloy and wider framing - will be 700 pounds lighter, achieving faster accelerations, more responsive decelerations and improved efficiency.

Overall outputs will increase, with drivers able to choose from four engine types: including the 3.5 liter V6, the 3.5 liter Ecoboost V-6, the 2.7 liter Ecoboost V6 or the 5.0 liter V8.

Integrated technology - such as a remote release tailgate, an app-synced display screen or even a 360 degree monitor mirror - will prove useful for everyday towing as well.

The 2015 F-150 will provide drivers with the power they need and the performance they deserve.

Ford Introduces Aluminum F-Series Options

Tags:
(Posted on Feb 14, 2014 at 03:32PM by Lee Byard)

aluminium f series fordThe F-Series has earned its place among the automotive elite. Since its inception in 1948, these trucks have set the standard for strength and fuel economy throughout North America. With each generation they have introduced now crucial technology (such as the first integrated headlights in 1952, the first full line four-wheel drive conversion in 1959 or even the first powered door locks for pick-ups in 1986).

Now the F-Series is adding yet another landmark trait to its collection.

According to CNN, Ford will soon unveil an aluminum F-Series. Steel materials will be phased out, with manufacturers favoring lighter, flexible alloys. All pick-ups, including the popular F-150, will be completely redesigned.

This change, as spearheaded by former Ford Executive Phil Martens, is a response to recent industry regulations, which demand that automakers achieve a 54.5 MPG ratio for every pick-up by 2025. An aluminum truck will make this possible, as Martens explains, by proving: “One, lightweight. Two, (having an) advanced powertrain. And three, maintaining product attributes.”

These elements will ensure that the F-Series retains it signature strength but also offers greater fuel economy.

Drivers can expect to see the first aluminum trucks as early as 2015.

Key West Ford Stresses The Importance Of Auto Insurance This Season

Tags:
(Posted on Feb 12, 2014 at 04:08PM by Lee Byard)

winter auto insurance canadaFord owners have a their own brand of mathematics. They study the economy of fuel pumps and engine intakes. They learn horsepower ratios and estimate highway miles. Numbers are applied solely to a car's performance.

Key West Ford applies them instead to winter auto insurance.

Drivers must have appropriate coverage this season. Statistics prove again and again that this is a dangerous time of year, especially for those on the streets. According to the Canadian Road Transportation Department:

Winter conditions are cited as a major contributing factor in almost 40% of annual collisions.

Over 500 accidents list snow drift as their source each year.

Packed snow results in over 7,5000 accidents each year.

Loose snow results in approximately 3,500 accidents each year.

Heavy snow leads to 1,500 accidents each year.

Light snow leads to 900 accidents each year.

These facts can’t be denied. They can, however, be countered with proper auto insurance. Drivers must have seasonal coverage, anticipating accidents with strong deductibles and comprehensive plans. This will make any potential repairs less daunting and less costly.

Key West urges its customers to update their policies and be safe.

Key West Ford Recommends Increasing Collision Coverage For Primary Vehicles This Winter

increase collision coverage insurance canadaAccidents happen.

This is the inescapable truth of winter. Snow and sleet cover the roads, and seasonal winds batter even the most sturdily built Explorers, Rangers and F-150s. Slipping and sliding down the street is to be expected.

It’s also to be countered with collision insurance.

Key West Ford recommends that all drivers increase their collision insurance this season. These policies - which provide protection against crashes, road damage (such as pot-holes or guard rails), falling debris and more - prove essential as the weather turns stormy. They offer comprehensive coverage for primary vehicles and help to lessen expensive repair bills: whether through deductibles, subrogations or total loss endorsements.

We strongly suggest raising collision rates this winter. Statistics don’t favor drivers. As the temperatures drop the chance for an accident rises. Use auto insurance as a way to combat that; and, should a problem occur, these policies will be accepted by Key West Ford’s body shop and repair center. Receive exceptional service without the hefty price.

Collision coverage is vital for this season. Increase rates to decrease worries.

Key West Ford Suggests Investing In Roadside Assistance

roadside assistance insuranceWinter is a series of snowy days and slick streets, with every element joining together to steal traction. It’s all too easy for drivers to skid into ditches, and it’s even easier for budgets to break beneath the weight of hefty repair bills.

Key West Ford wants its customers to be secure this season - both emotionally and financially. This is why we suggest purchasing roadside assistance coverage.

Roadside assistance is aptly named. It provides drivers with total protection, extending coverage to mechanical failures, collisions, flat tires, empty gas tanks and more. It offers access to the best towing and repair options, and it also eliminates costly bills.

This is an essential service, especially as temperatures plunge and conditions turn dangerous. Use this coverage to counter the effects of sleet and slush.

Key West Ford recommends roadside assistance for all of our drivers. We also work with all policies, providing direct billing to insurance agencies. Contact our body shop to learn more.

Key West Ford Recommends Reducing Insurance Coverage For Secondary Cars This Winter

Tags:
(Posted on Feb 11, 2014 at 03:12PM by Lee Byard)

reduce winter car insuranceYou love your car. It’s a sleek-shaped racer (a Roush, a Mustang or yet another Ford wonder) with a roaring engine and track-worthy suspension. It cuts corners with total precision and you’ve spent your summer chasing the sun.

It’s winter now, however, and that sports car is in the garage. You won’t risk its lightweight frame on slick roads and frosted drives. It’s going to remain safe and stationary.

Key West Ford wonders why you’re paying for seasonal insurance then?

As winter plods along consider reducing your insurance rates for all secondary cars. Full protection isn’t needed if vehicles are not being used, and a comprehensive plan (which entails storm damage, fire, theft or any body repair issues) is a far more sensible solution. Save hundreds of dollars by eliminating unnecessary coverage.

Contact your insurance company to learn how to change your policies for the cold months. Ask for recommendations and compare monthly costs.

You want to protect your vehicle. Key West Ford simply suggests limiting the scope of that protection. Choose plans that best reflect the season and your situation.

Key West Ford Wants Drivers To Understand The Inertia Principle This Winter

Tags:
(Posted on Feb 8, 2014 at 04:47PM by Lee Byard)

how inertia works when drivingDrivers spare few thoughts for gravity. Their concerns instead center around protecting their Fusions, Mustangs and Explorers against harsh winter storms.

Key West Ford suggests mastering more than oil filters and fuel lines this season, however. Learn how inertia can impact driving.

The inertia principle is a simple one: it describes how an object remains in a state of motion, resisting changes in velocity. This is often applied to cars, proving how wheels will always spin unless they're forced to stop. This proves both helpful and harmful during the winter.

The Value of Inertia

Drivers are warned not to accelerate too quickly during cold weather. Pumping the pedals only serves to overload the engine and undo traction. Inertia compensates for this lack of power, naturally - and efficiently - helping vehicles move. It gathers speed from downhill drives and turns, letting cars roll forward and reducing the need for gas.

The Danger of Inertia

While inertia allows drivers to move steadily, it can also prove difficult to contain. Arriving at the base of a hill, for example, doesn’t result in a sudden stop (which is needed). Instead a car will be carried by its own weight, past signs or traffic lights. Inertia utilizes friction as a form of transportation and, if not countered with careful braking and deceleration techniques, it can cause collisions.

Understanding how inertia works is the key to safe driving. Utilize it to reduce the need for gas, but always maintain subtle pressure on the brakes while descending to keep it under control. Be aware of vehicle speeds and maintain a ten second following distance between other cars to reduce worries of crashing.

Recognize the advantages - and potential troubles - of inertia this winter.

Key West Ford Encourages Drivers To Go Slow This Season

Tags:
(Posted on Feb 8, 2014 at 04:33PM by Lee Byard)

drive slow in winterFord drivers crave the open road. They want fast speeds and roaring engines - and cars like the signature Mustang or the Eco-boost enhanced Fusion deliver them both.

As the winter season rolls on, however, Key West Ford urges all drivers to slow down.

Cold weather breeds chaos. Once safe roads become slick, crusted with ice, sleet and dirty snow. Drivers must, therefore, learn to adapt to these conditions by decreasing their speeds. Avoid fast accelerations or abrupt stops whenever possible, reducing average ratios by up to fifteen miles per hour. Applying extra thrust causes nothing more than spinning wheels. Gently press the pedals instead to maintain traction.

Driving slowly is essential in the winter. Remember that it will impact work, errands more, however, so shift all schedules accordingly. Allow extra time to do everyday activities.

Key West Ford wants every driver to be safe this February. We urge everyone to slow down and be careful.

Key West Ford Suggests Increasing Your Following Distance This Winter

Tags:
(Posted on Feb 8, 2014 at 04:19PM by Lee Byard)

increase following distance in winterYou are rarely alone on the road. Every mile seems to bring yet another driver, yet another car; and you share the highways, byways and intersections with the rest of the world's travelers.

Sharing the streets during winter, however, can prove dangerous - unless you maintain a proper following distance.

The following distance is the length between cars. It’s measured in time rather than inches and, during warm months, it’s recommended to maintain three to five seconds. This allows drivers to easily adapt to changes in traffic, road conditions and more.

As the weather turns cold, however, that time becomes far too short. Black ice, sleet and heavy rain can transform asphalt into a series of accidents, and drivers must prepare for all inevitabilities. They must, therefore, increase their following distances.

Key West Ford recommends leaving up to ten seconds between vehicles. This allows all drivers - including you - to better adjust to sudden stops, skids or collisions. Move at a slow and steady pace, and maintain a sizable gap between all cars.

Winter driving is never easy. Increasing your following distance, however, can make it manageable.
