The all-new 2013 Ford C-MAX is an exciting addition to our lineup. Making headlines as Ford Canada’s first dedicated hybrid lineup, it’s already impressing owners. The Ford Blog saw this first-hand when we chatted with Montreal’s Claude Villeneuve, one of the first C-MAX buyers in Canada.
Advanced fuel efficiency was the main reason this deliveryman, who drives more than 60,000 kilometres a year, settled on the C-MAX Hybrid. After owning five Ford Focuses – fuel efficient cars in their own right – he decided to make the jump to hybrids. Powered by both an electric and gasoline engine, the C-MAX Hybrid is a great way to maximize fuel-efficiency, while helping you save money at the gas station.
In addition to its fuel economy, Claude was surprised at the quietness of his C-MAX Hybrid. After 12 hours behind the wheel each day, it’s a luxury that helps him arrive home much more relaxed. As well, he said that after test-driving several different hybrids, he preferred the C-MAX because of its “sporty ride.”
Claude admitted that he quickly fell in love with the navigation system and the hands-free calling, two of the features of SYNC with MyFord Touch. But what’s the one feature he can’t live without? Heated door mirrors! “Once you’ve experienced it, you can’t go back,” he said. The C-MAX Hybrid is filled with unique technology that makes life easier, such as Foot-Activated Liftgate and Active Park Assist.
“Without a doubt, I would recommend Ford to my friends,” Claude added. “For sure, my next ride will still be a Ford.”

2014 Ford Fiesta Boasts 1.0L Ecoboost, ST Model, and More!
Presented at the most recent Los Angeles Auto Show, the 2014 Ford Fiesta is an improvement over the 2012 edition. This little subcompact has been available in North America for two years, but slow sales motivated Ford to offer a version that packaged a more attractive design and energy efficient engines.
Visually, what we initially see from the new front end of the Fiesta is a view that offers more modern lines and an "Aston Martin" style grill, typical of current offerings from American manufacturers. Truthfully, it suits the car well, giving the small subcompact a sporty and aggressive look. In it's category, it's difficult to find another car as attractive as this 2014 model. The interior has also benefited from a refresh by Ford. The dash and centre console have been left modernized, even futuristic feeling, while remaining humble and offering the necessary essentials without the frills.
Initially, Ford will be offering the 2014 with the same engine as on the previous model. The most amazing version, the Fiesta ST, will be fitted with a four-cylinder 1.6 litre Eco Boost engine, generating no less than 197 horses and 215 pounds of torque. The 2014 ST is also equipped with a sportier suspension.
Later in the year, patient drivers will enjoy the EcoBoost 1.0-litre engine version. This is an amazing small three-cylinder equipped with a turbocharger that can rotate up to 248,000 rpm! It puts out a respectable 123 HP, given the characteristics of this motor. The icing on the cake is that the fuel consumption is estimated at about 5.8 litres per 100 kilometres. Under the right conditions, it could even fall below 5 litres. The only transmission offered with the 1.0-litre EcoBoost model will be a five-speed manual. Ford hasn't ruled out an automatic, but nothing is planned in the short term.
With this release, Ford is expected to significantly increase its market share and displace it's competition, reinforcing it's position in the increasingly competitive subcompact market. See you in the spring at Key West Ford to take possession of your next Fiesta 2014!
