The truth doesn’t always prove kind - with North American consumers recently forced to face a series of sad facts from Ford: sales for the Fiesta ST have tumbled dangerously low; production costs have risen; and it’s no longer feasible to keep the assembly lines running. This hot hatch has driven its final mile.
Do you hear that? It’s the sound of grief rumbling across the highway - with a small (but devoted) Fiesta fanbase cursing the morning.
According to Torque Report, Ford will not bring its 2018 ST to North America. Flagging sales and niche interest have condemned past versions of this platform, and there is no indication that the latest trim would break the cycle. Drivers have simply not responded to the Fiesta’s sporty appeal.
We find that surprising - especially since the current 2017 ST has no equal on the market. Bolstered by a 1.6L inline-four engine, this hatchback delivers 197 HP and 202 lb.-ft of torque. Its nimble frame (carbon paneling ensures a curb weight of only 2,734-pounds) and six-speed manual transmission promise superior cornering, allowing drivers to roar from 0 to 60 in just seven seconds. The sport-tuned FWD provides smooth accelerations, and the Torsion Beam suspension adapts to ever-changing inclines with ease.
The 2017 Fiesta ST is a masterclass of power and performance - and the Key West team can’t believe we won’t be able to experience its successor in the Lower Mainland. We can only hope that Ford will undo this decision in time.

High-performance proves the standard of the 2017 Fiesta ST - with Ford fusing this hatchback with a 1.6L turbocharged four-cylinder engine, promising 200 HP and 213 lb.-ft of torque. It’s a six-speed manual monster that blasts from 0 to 60 in less than seven seconds.
It may surprise drivers, therefore, to also expect superior styling - but Ford has ensured that this platform impresses beyond the track.
According to The Citizen, the 2017 Fiesta has been redesigned. It now sits on 17-inch wheels, with five aluminum spokes adding a rally effect. Metallic paint (which includes the new color, Storm Gray) is perfectly contrasted by the black intake panels and solar-tinted glass; and sharp lip moldings and side skirts create a bold look. This all pairs with custom ST badges that adorn both the sides and rear.
From every angle the new Fiesta impresses - and its interior proves just as striking. Leather seats combine with LCD displays, while available metallic sill plates deliver fresh style. This is a hatchback that will please both the speedster and the sophisticate.

It’s a comparison of prices - with the Key West Ford team seeking budget-friendly flights, needing to venture Down Under for the hot hatch experience of a lifetime. The 2018 Fiesta ST has debuted in Australia.... and we’re trying to decide whether we can make the trip to snag a peek.
We know our customers will understand. After all, this is a platform like no other - with Practical Motoring revealing a tantalizing list of specs. The 2018 Fiesta ST promises incredible rally performance, boasting:
A 1.0L Turbocharged Three-Cylinder Engine.
A Six-Speed Manual Transmission.
A Robust Front-Wheel-Drivetrain.
An Aggressive Hatchback Profile (160-inches long, 58-inches high).
Ford has redefined the compact market, with its new ST generating 138 HP and 132 lb.-ft of torque. A sharp turning circle (10.05-meters) allows for fluid handling, while the lightweight frame (2566-pounds) enables drivers to fly down the track. A sport-tuned suspension completes the powertrain, promising peerless responses on every terrain.
Want to join us in Australia? We’ll save you a seat!
No official release date for the 2018 Fiesta ST has been provided. We have our fingers crossed, however, that Ford will soon bring this platform to the Lower Mainland.
Greatness is no longer defined by size. With the release of the 2017 Fiesta ST, Ford defies all expectations - pairing hatchback styling with powerhouse performance.
According to Ford Authority, the new Fiesta recently made its track debut on New Hampshire’s Hillclimb - a treacherous track that winds along a sharp-turned mountain, forcing drivers to battle the elements as they race to the peak. Few paths prove as unpredictable.... and fewer still could provide such a challenge for the ST.
With every mile, however, this hot hatch dominated the course. Ford Authority notes that the 1.6L four-cylinder engine yielded impressive power - generating 197 HP and 202 lb.-ft of torque. Direct-injection technology paired with a Ti-VCT turbocharger to ensure premium speeds (0 to 60 in just 6.8 seconds), while the MacPherson strut-front suspension clung to every curve. This allowed the Fiesta to rush past the competition, revving its way through Hillclimb’s many terrains in less than eight minutes.

Spring has ushered in a series of new vehicles - with the world’s leading automotive brands all racing to Switzerland, revving their latest innovations onto the Geneva Motor Show stage. From March 9th to March 19th, this event served as an introduction to power, performance, and economy.
It also served as the first glimpse of the 2018 Fiesta ST.
According to J.D. Power, Ford recently premiered its 2018 Fiesta ST at the Geneva Motor Show. This hot hatch stole the spotlight, earning praise for its new three-cylinder engine - which yields 197 HP, 214 lb.-ft of torque, and a 0 to 60 blitz of just 6.7 seconds! Through turbocharged technology and direct-fuel injection capabilities, it delivers premium performance.
It also offers style. Ford has tweaked the Fiesta’s exterior, offering a series of custom color options (including Frozen White and Shadow Black) and alloy badges. The new 20-inch aluminum wheels feature satin finishes, while available rally stripes highlight the elongated body. The ST now fully embraces its circuit origins.

It’s an all too familiar - and all too unfair - pattern. Ford sends its line-up across the pond, testing the limits of V8 power and sport-tuned responses on Europe’s winding roads. Platforms debut to international acclaim... and remain unavailable to North Americans. The frustration proves too great.
The Key West team is pleased to announce that this frustration will soon end. The 2017 Fiesta ST is coming to B.C. and beyond!
According to Torque News, Ford Europe has just premiered exclusive footage of its 2017 ST. This rally-runner - which boasts a turbocharged 1.5L EcoBoost engine - promises 200 HP and 214 lb.-ft of torque. Custom drive modes (which include Normal, Sport, and Track) ensure precise performance on any road, while an active valve exhaust generates pulse-pounding sound on every curve. This is the ultimate hatchback.
It's also the ultimate gift to B.C. drivers, with Torque News predicting an impending North American release. The noted auto site expects Ford will soon bring its 2017 ST to our shores - and, more importantly, this platform should be identical to its European cousin. No longer suffer through compromised power or middling engine revs. This will be a truly global hatchback.
We’ll spare you a moment to collect your jaw from the floor.

Secrecy defines the 2018 Ford Fiesta. This next-generation hatchback - which will first debut in the United Kingdom before, hopefully, revving across the pond - has been revealed, leading to a flurry of consumer confusion and consternation. Drivers are squinting at their smartphone screens, trying to decipher what precisely has... changed.
The Coventry Telegraph sympathizes, knowing that the Fiesta remains (mostly) in tact from the 2017 model. Finding the differences is a challenge - which is why it recently listed them all, sparing drivers the frustration of comparing each individual spec.
Body Expansions - the 2018 Fiesta is both longer (71-mm) and wider (12-mm). Its wheelbase has also been extended (4-mm) to better accommodate passengers.
Interior Upgrades - the infotainment system has been redesigned, delivering a sleeker style and a tablet-like instrument cluster. This allows for more efficient interfacing.
Drivetrain Updates - a new sport-tuned suspension helps this hatchback push past any obstacle.
Safety Options - a suite of available features (including pedestrian detection monitoring and automatic brake interventions) is now offered to reduce the chance of collision.
These changes are subtle, with most drivers unable to immediately recognize them. When implemented in the new Fiesta, however, they will also ensure a more comfortable highway experience.
We have our fingers crossed that these experiences will soon be shared in Canada.

Less truly is more - because, since its 1976 debut, the Ford Fiesta has managed to dominate the global market, earning high sales and equally high acclaim. This mighty super-mini embraces its compact profile, fusing every line with precision. It’s tailored for every day and every road.
It’s also tailored for victory, with the 2017 Ford Fiesta RS delivering an impressive start to this year’s racing scene.
According to Crash Net, the 2017 RS has secured both first-place and second-place positions at the Monte Carlo Rally. This event - which serves as the opening round of the World Rally Championship - proves a challenge for every platform, delivering a series of twists, turns, and straightaways. Within the 31-kilometer span of its Col de Turini route are some of the world’s most spectacular (and dangerous) terrains.
The tiny Ford Fiesta, therefore, seems an unlikely contender for Monte Carlo glory - but its exclusive EcoBoost engine allowed it to score top marks, with the FRA M-Sport and the EST M-Sport reigning supreme. These vehicles (driven by Sebastien Ogier and Ott Tanak, respectively) managed to blitz past their competitors, completing the entire track in less than three-and-a-half hours. This was a stunning victory for Ford and a perfect beginning to the 2017 season.

Along the twisting turns of the Alps comes a sudden shadow - darting between the crooked lanes, blitzing past the snow and ever-present ice. It moves, bullet-quick, across Italy’s dizzying roads; and spectators huddled on the banks can only tremble as it passes.
This is the Ford Fiesta WRC.... and it’s beautiful.
Watch below as Ford tests its WRC against the alpine terrain, with its M-Sport team (led by driver Elfyn Evans) delivering a full-throttle experience.
None can deny the power of the 2017 Fiesta WRC. This hot hatchback reportedly boasts an EcoBoost engine, generating up to 380 HP (more than 60 HP more than the 2015 variant). Its aggressive new stance - which offers a square chassis and wide headlamps - cuts through wind resistance, allowing the car to push forward with ease; and the blend of aluminum and carbon fiber parts has enabled Ford to reduce the overall weight by 22 pounds.
This promises exceptional responses on the track, with the WRC able to deftly navigate even the sharpest corners. Its light, elongated frame promotes high performance.
Are you impressed? The Key West team certainly is.

The options prove endless - with a dealership drenched in sporty profiles and hatchback efficiency. Every car boasts efficient engines, with their chrome-covered lines tailored for nimble responses. They’re quick; they’re agile; they’re all seemingly perfect... which is why you now find yourself sauntering toward the nearest Honda Fit and Nissan Versa. These will surely deliver the same value as the rest. Your decision is done!
Ford applauds your enthusiasm. It also, however, recommends that you spare a bit more time on the selection process. Before sliding behind the wheel of an inferior hatchback, let your eyes (and feet) wander toward the 2016 Fiesta.
Not all hatchbacks are created equal. Instead the 2016 Fiesta revs past the competition, delivering exceptional performance for urban lanes and B.C. backroads alike. This sport-tuned platform offers an award-winning 1.0L EcoBoost engine, yielding up to 43 miles-per-gallon on the highway. Pair this with a series of class-exclusive technological features - including the voice-activated SYNC 3 infotainment system - to ensure peerless responses.
With the release of the 2016 Fiesta, Ford offers drivers next-generation power - leaving the competition in the proverbial dust.
